RAC Warranty Car Cover Included As Standard
Every eligible car at Zoomo comes with an RAC warranty car cover from the moment you drive away. That means a 3-month warranty is already in place when you pick up your car or have it delivered. There's no extra charge, and no hidden extras. This is part of our RAC Approved Dealer status.
The warranty covers mechanical and electrical faults if something goes wrong. You can use any VAT-registered garage for repairs, too, which makes life easier. There is no excess to pay, so you are not hit with surprise costs when you need help.
What Is Covered?
With an RAC warranty car policy, you get cover for mechanical and electrical parts if they fail to do their job. That includes core systems that affect your car's functionality. It's there to step in when something stops working as it should.
Every eligible vehicle comes with 12 months of RAC Breakdown Cover, too, which may require activation. That includes roadside help, Accident Care, and Motor Legal Care. You also get a car data check, so you know the vehicle is not stolen, written off, or has any outstanding finance.
If a repair takes 8 hours or more, the warranty helps with car hire. It can cover up to £50 per day for up to 7 days, as long as the claim meets the terms. That can be a big help when you still need to get to work or pick up the kids.
For repairs, you can come back to us or use any VAT-registered garage. It's up to you. If you prefer, you can also book through an RAC Approved Garage using their claims service.
If you travel in Europe, you are covered there as well. The warranty allows up to 60 days of continental use in each 12-month period. That gives you a bit more freedom if you head abroad.
Two levels are available: Platinum and Platinum Plus. Both cover mechanical and electrical parts. Platinum Plus has added cover for wear and tear on certain parts, within age and mileage limits. It also includes cover for issues such as carbon build-up and has a claim contribution limit of £50 or one hour’s labour, whichever is lower.
Both options come with no excess to pay. Eligibility for each level depends on the age and mileage of the vehicle when you buy it.
Warranty Levels Explained
Platinum Plus
This is the highest level of cover. It includes mechanical and electrical parts, plus wear and tear on eligible components. Wear and tear cover applies where the vehicle is under 8 years old and under 80,000 miles when you make a claim. It's available on vehicles up to 10 years old with less than 150,000 miles at purchase.
Platinum
This covers mechanical and electrical parts that fail to work as they should. It's available on vehicles up to 10 years old with less than 150,000 miles when you buy it. It gives you a solid level of protection.
Both options include car hire support during longer repairs, up to 60 days European use, and zero excess to pay. As with any warranty, terms, conditions, and exclusions apply, and total claims cannot exceed the purchase price of the vehicle.
Extending Your Warranty
As cars get older, parts wear out. It's just part of owning a vehicle. That's why extending your used car warranty in the UK can make sense.
You can extend your RAC warranty for 12, 24, 36, or 48 months. This gives longer protection and helps spread the risk of repair bills over time.
There's also a direct debit option, so you can spread the cost into 10 monthly payments at no extra cost, rather than paying it all upfront.
Subject to status. UK residents aged 18+.
Frequently asked questions

Does every car come with a warranty?
Most cars do. Every eligible vehicle includes a 3-month RAC warranty as standard. It is part of buying through an RAC Dealer Network. You can browse our cars and check what's included on each vehicle listing before you decide.
What does the RAC warranty cover?
The RAC warranty is a 3-month car warranty that covers mechanical and electrical faults if something stops working as it should. That includes the parts you rely on every day.
You also get extras like breakdown cover, car hire during longer repairs, and the option to use any VAT-registered garage.
Can I extend my RAC warranty?
Yes, you can. An extended car warranty in the UK lets you carry on your cover after the first 3 months. You can choose 12, 24, 36, or 48 months, depending on what works for you.
If you want longer or more comprehensive protection, you can also consider options like Zoomo Protect.
Where can I get warranty repairs done?
You have a few options. You can bring the car back to us here at Zoomo, or use any VAT-registered garage near you. If that's easier, you can also book through an RAC Approved Garage using their claims service. That way, you are never stuck trying to find a place that accepts the warranty.
Is there an excess to pay?
No, there is no excess to pay on the RAC warranty. That means if a valid claim is approved, you will not need to cover a fixed upfront cost before repairs start. It removes one more worry at a time when you just want the car sorted and back on the road.
